Viviana Petyarre is an Alyawarre woman from Utopia in the Northern Territory. Although school and work took her away from home for many years as a filmmaker and artist, she always maintained a strong connection to her family and community. Following the passing of her father in 2024, Viviana returned home to reconnect with culture, language and community, and to give her young daughter the opportunity to grow up with the same strong cultural upbringing she experienced. Today, she is the Community Development Manager at Urapuntja Health Service, where she leads programs that strengthen social and emotional wellbeing, youth and community, and believes in the power and voice of community while strengthening culture and supporting future generations.
