Gisela Malimara is a Burrara language interpreter - one of 12 main languages spoken in her community of Maningrida. She holds NAATI certification and works with the NT Aboriginal Interpreter Service, Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals, and Menzies School of Health Research as a research assistant. Her work includes provision of language interpretation for healthcare clients, providing training for healthcare providers and interpreters, and conducting qualitative data collection and analysis.
