Following a varied career in senior medical administration in private, public and government organisations across Australia and New Zealand, David retired from his role in a major private hospital in Melbourne. Retirement provided the opportunity to take up a locum position at Katherine. After 3 visits, he accepted a 2-year position as Director of Medical Services in the Big Rivers Region, little realising the adventures that awaited.

David has held several positions in the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators including President, Censor, Mentor and Lead Fellow - Clinical Governance. He also hosts the Safeguarding Healthcare podcast focusing on clinical governance challenges.
