Description

High quality clinical supervision is vital for safe, sustainable primary health care in the Northern Territory, yet little is known about how supervisors apply supervision training in practice.

This presentation shares findings from a qualitative study exploring how medical, nursing and allied health supervisors applied supervision training in their practice 3 months after completing the program. It highlights the key factors that influenced how training was translated into practice and demonstrates how supervisors at different stages of experience applied their learning.

The findings provide insights into how supervision training can better support workforce development. They highlight opportunities for tailored learning, communities of practice and flexible access to training to strengthen supervisory capability and support a sustainable NT health workforce.
