Wendy O’Meara has more than 27 years’ experience in general practice and is currently Practice Manager of a high performing 24-doctor practice in Gisborne, Victoria.
Over the past 16 years, she has helped build the clinic into a large multidisciplinary practice with a range of allied health and specialists who provide regular services. Under her leadership, the practice received the Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) Rural Practice of the Year in 2019.
She is passionate about general practice and has a thorough understanding of all facets, with special interests in the Medical Benefits Schedule (MBS), chronic disease management, accreditation and mentoring of new doctors, registrars and medical students.
Since 2017, she has also worked as an education consultant, supporting GPs, nurses and practice managers all over Australia to achieve strong outcomes. Alongside her fulltime role, she takes any opportunities to meet and work with new practices, guiding them through the complexities of general practice.
