Professor Tom Marwick is an internationally recognised cardiologist, researcher and leader in cardiovascular imaging. He has held senior positions in Australia and the United States, including Head of Cardiovascular Imaging at Cleveland Clinic, Professor of Medicine at The University of Queensland, and Director of the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute.
Professor Marwick has played a leading role in advancing cardiovascular imaging, including the development of stress echocardiography and myocardial strain imaging. His current research focuses on the early detection of cardiovascular disease and the use of artificial intelligence, remote image acquisition and robotics to improve access to cardiac imaging.
He has published more than 1,000 papers, reviews and book chapters, supervised more than 40 PhD completions, and received numerous national and international awards for his contributions to cardiovascular research, imaging and clinical education.
