Description

This presentation explores how the Manchester Triage System (MTS) can strengthen after-hours care in remote NT communities. With growing demand, workforce pressures and inconsistent local arrangements, after-hours triage is a fragile but critical step in the patient pathway. The session outlines why remote triage is challenging, how St John Ambulance NT, Miwatj Aboriginal Health Corporation and NT Health have each looked to MTS, and how it can provide structured clinical and decision support without replacing clinical judgement or primary care. It invites other services to help shape a practical, culturally responsive and fit-for-purpose approach for remote communities across the NT.
