Description

Remote clinics in the NT face ongoing challenges with medication stock control, safety, and timely access. This presentation shares the results of a pilot program for an automated dispensing cabinet (adc) in a remote aboriginal health service. The system introduced barcode scanning, secure user access, and automated reporting, supported by training and on-site pharmacy input.

Key challenges and practical lessons from implementation will be discussed, including stock setup and system optimisation. This session will provide a real-world example of how technology can support safer, more efficient medication management in remote primary care.
