Date & Time
Saturday, August 15, 2026, 11:10 AM - 11:50 AM
Description

Since the introduction of Shared Medical Appointments (SMAs) across Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) in the NT, services have adapted and strengthened the model to meet local community needs. This presentation will highlight recent developments in the SMA Community of Practice. Presenters from participating ACCHOs will share practical examples of culturally responsive approaches, including Medical Yarn-ups and Medical Dhäwu Dhäw. These examples will demonstrate how SMAs support chronic disease engagement, peer learning, multidisciplinary collaboration and workforce development across urban, regional, and remote settings.
