Description

This presentation will discuss the development of a national common data model in Australia and how it could be used.

A national common data model extends beyond individual collections or datasets. It provides a shared set of analytical concepts that can be applied across multiple systems and sectors, including primary and acute care, aged care and disability and other health sectors. It can support greater alignment on priority concepts, with mappings to the underlying source data captured in different environments. This creates the potential to better link data captured at the point of care to analytical use, enabling a more direct pathway from data capture to insight.
